Sometimes I just feel like it's not that important that I get every text message or notification immediately. And I like watches -- they're the only thing close to jewelry I ever wear. So it makes sense that I would enjoy analog watches, and I do. I especially like skeleton watches where you can see the gears inside. I will admit I was a bit skeptical before ordering this because I also try to avoid things (any things) that just look "messy" for lack of a better term. And there's serious potential here for this watch to look like a hot mess.But it doesn't, at least not for me. It works on every level I was hoping it would work on. Yes, the color choices are interesting. Black frame, brown band, orange numbers and a blue ring behind the numbers. But here's the thing -- I work for a school whose colors are orange and blue, and people notice it right away and ask where I got it! And the frame and band colors actually look great together.The band is impressive. First of all, the watch is big. Like, the biggest watch I own. So a thin, weak faux-leather band just isn't going to cut it, and it's obvious that the manufacturer knew this. The band is thick and plenty wide and soft enough after wearing for a while. The black frame has angled corners, raised edges, and fake rivets which could also have been a disaster. But again, it works. Might not work with a digital display, or even a chronograph display, but on a skeleton watch it emphasizes the industrial feel that the watch gives off.The crown is well protected and easy to use for winding when necessary or setting the time. Which you'll need to do if you let the watch go a few days without moving it. It's easy to wind and reset the time; just don't panic the first time you pick it up after wearing other watches for a few days and come back to it thinking your new watch is already broken. (Not that I did that, of course...)It's also worth mentioning that if you have a watch winder for automatic (non-quartz) analog watches, this watch works with them.If you made it this far, you can probably tell I really like this watch. It's not the cheapest watch I own, and it's not the most expensive. But it is my favorite. Highly recommended.
