Short version, the Nixon Heat is a great watch to me due to its screen layout but it does have some possible deal breakers. Almost everything right about this watch was great to have but so close but so far from perfect. Despite that, I would buy again. Casio should take note at this screen layout. For comparison the Nixon Regulus MK1 is in the background with the black nylon band.-Pro:-EASY to read, this is the selling feature. Surprisingly even moderate light it is still legible. In very low light my analog watches are the way to go though. See con for the flipside.--The Chrono feature is very welcome but see cons--The Alarm feature is very welcome but see cons--I really like the aluminum body, just very well executed--The band is very comfortable and I prefer this on hot days or at the pool--Dual time zones are quite nice, budget GMT if you think about it. Easy to access as well.--Two button navigation is easy to use but see cons--The Cons!!!-The biggest con with this watch is that the buttons offer no feedback and need to be pressed firmly. The activation zone is narrow, combined with no audible or mechanical feedback, makes it the worst thing about this watch. Sometimes a lighter touch is needed but then sometimes you need to press it firmly (2 different watches did this) but because of all the other features, I deal with it.-While easy to read, the backlight button is hard to access and quite dim, even compared to their own Regulus.--Chrono stops at 99min, sure better than many anaolog 1hr chrono but the regulus eventually switches from minutes to hours and if this offered that, it would vastly improve the chrono function for me personally--Alarm is welcome but it only beeps for about 8-10 seconds, 30 seconds at least would be nice as it is not very loud but I think loud enough, just needs to beep longer--Love the hour indicator but think it syncs to the minute, so if you adjusted your time and set the minute when the seconds were at 20 seconds, it seems that the chime happens at that 20 second point rather than exactly at the hour. Weird but whatever.--What I would like in a V2--Fix the buttons, make them more like the Regulus MK1 but with a lighter touch than them. If that is not possible, just put the Regulus mk1 buttons on this. Those have a physical breaking point as to when the actuation happens so there is no mistaking when the click happens.-make the Chrono work like the Regulus where it switches to hours:mins to extend the capability-make the alarm beep for a longer period of time, 30-60 seconds pls-A slightly larger version would be cool with a 22mm lug width and a slightly larger watch body.--Overall, I think Nixon has a solid watch on their hands that really needs a V2 to fix these issues. I just can't find anything else like this on the market. Love it really but it does have it's tradeoffs.
